Amelia Korbitz is an American violinist with a passion for new music and collaboration through chamber music. She is the executive director and founder of the Antigone Music Collective, an organization committed to performing music by historically underrepresented composers, advancing the role of women in classical music, and making modern music accessible to modern audiences.
Through her work with the Antigone Music Collective, Amelia has curated free public concerts primarily across the Midwest region of the United States, where a large portion of her programming is focused on nature, current events, and artistic identity in the modern day. Her work with the AMC has spanned from recital engagements at institutions such as the University of Chicago to a residency at the Vid Djupid Music Festival in Isafjordur, Iceland. She draws inspiration from many living composers, and has been a part of commission projects for artists such as Brian Raphael Nabors, Emma Tucker, Caleb Abner, and Aaron Zimmer. In 2026, she put on the acclaimed world premiere of Nyctivoe, a chamber music cycle by Gregory Rowland Evans with text by author Dimitris Lyacos, alongside the AMC.
Her most recent solo performance highlights include the Haydn Sinfonia Concertante with the Skagit Symphony in 2026 and the Beethoven Violin Concerto with the Southern Illinois Music Festival Orchestra in 2025. She previously performed Vivalid’s le Quattro Stagioni: L’Inverno with the Southern Illinois Music Festival Orchestra, Primavera with the West Suburban Symphony, and Piazzolla’s Los Cuatros Estaciones Porteñas with the CCM Philharmonia Orchestra. She has spent seven consecutive summers at the Southern Illinois Music Festival, and as an associate concertmaster since 2022.
Amelia earned her Master of Music degree at the Cleveland Institute of Music with Dr. Olga Dubossarskaya Kaler and her Bachelor of Music degree at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music under the tutelage of Dr. Won-Bin Yim. She has also earned a Spanish language minor from the University of Cincinnati and is a certified violin instructor by the Suzuki Association of the Americas.
